An Invitation from Chris Thile

Dearest Fellow Acoustic Music Obsessors,

I am OVERJOYED to invite you to the second annual Acousticamp!!! We’re headed west this year, to beautiful Pacific Grove, CA, from August 22nd to the 26th at the Asilomar Hotel and Conference Center.

Whether you’re a professional musician looking to increase the range and depth of your work, or a passionate concertgoer eager to understand more about the music you love, this is the camp for you! Prepare for a hands-on, ears-up deep dive into ALL the nooks and crannies of acoustic music-making: performance, composition, lyric-writing, improvisation, collaboration, recording, and on and on!

Once again, I’m honored to be joined by a dream lineup of instructors, known as our faculty, including herofriends Chris Eldridge, Brittany Haas, Paul Kowert, Noam Pikelny, Michael Daves, Ashley Hoyer and Julian Lage, PLUS some brilliant first timers like my pals Louis Cato and Sierra Hull.

Your days will be filled with instruction that meets you where you are, discussions and Q&A’s to help you determine where you want to be, performances by our faculty AND some very special guests to fuel you on your way, all topped off with late night jam sessions between you and your fellow Acousticampers. For those who prefer to listen and talk rather than sing and play at the end of the day, I’ll be hosting nightly listening parties where I’ll share music that inspires me, invite other faculty to do the same and we can all have a cocktail (or mocktail) or two about it!

Speaking of which, said c/mocktails AND our daily coffee will be WORLD CLASS, presided over by legends of those life-giving crafts, who will inspire you as you strive to make and appreciate Good Things.

Last year’s Acousticamp was a euphoria-inducing fusion of education, practice, and joy, and I have a feeling this year’s will be even better. LET’S DO THIS!!!

-Chris
